Effective teachers and principals, dedicated support staff, rigorous curriculum, culturally responsive practices, measurable outcomes, timely interventions, ongoing monitoring and assessment, collaboration, professional development, and a culture of continuous improvement ensure classroom success for all students.
Here, we believe that the achievement gap can be eliminated by ensuring every student is challenged to learn at or above grade level. All students can learn to be successful.
Programs and Information
The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees and District Leadership share our community’s concerns about the novel coronavirus. We are collaborating with WCSD Student Health Services, Washoe County Health District, State of Nevada, and federal health officials to determine the best course of action to protect our students and staff members.
The District has established a Reopening Task Force, a group comprised of key stakeholders including health officials, business leaders, parents, and District staff. The Task Force is currently weighing all options for a safe return to school in the fall.
WCSD is committed to ensuring that schools are prepared for a safe reopening. Information will be shared below for more information. For any specific questions about the health and safety of your student, please contact us at COVIDquestions@washoeschools.net .
